Are you a mommy-blogger looking for an Insta-worthy place to take your family photos? Maybe you’re a university student wanting to spend a Saturday with your roomies and want to snap some cute fall pics? Or you just want a great LOCAL place to buy some fresh apples. Look no further than London, Ontario for the best apple orchard in Ontario.
Appleland station is nestled just outside of East London, off of Dundas Street. It’s a quick drive from downtown, and a very inexpensive place to spend an hour, or the entire afternoon! Even if you are from Toronto- I promise you that Appleland is worth the drive.
A few of the MANY things to do here are:
Pick your own apples, and take some cute fall photos while you’re at it.
Say hello to the tiny piglets, baby goats, and other farm animals.
Explore the grounds by foot, or take a ride on the train!
Give a pat to Ernie’s farm dogs, Dora and Buster Brown (the sweetest dogs around!).
Get lost in the corn maze, or climb up the sand hill.
Pick your perfect pumpkin at the pumpkin patch.
Grab one of their signature fresh made pies in the store, but be careful, they are so fresh that they are still piping hot!
Chat with one of the knowledgeable and friendly staff members around.
Appleland holds a very special place to myself and Simon. We have been taking photos here for years, and have many fond memories. The owner, Ernie, is a close family friend of ours. I couldn’t speak more highly of him if I tried to. I have never met anymore more passionate, kind, and generous. He truly loves his farm and what he does- and it shows. As far as Appleland goes, there are so many things to do that you could spend the entire day here! Just don’t forget your apples. The quality of the apples here really shines through. They taste fresher, and last so much longer than grocery bought apples.
Make sure you put Appleland Station on your fall bucket list this year! You can visit from Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, Saturday 9am-6pm and Sunday from 10am-5pm. You may even run into us there, because you can bet that we will be there many more times this year!
